Sílvia Claveria Alias

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at Universidad Carlos III in Madrid and a research fellow at the Carlos III - Juan March Institute.

My research focuses on the causes and consequences of women's representation in executive power in advanced industrial democracies. In particular, I am studying the gendered dynamics of the executive branch and political parties as well as citizens' responses to women's presence in politics.

I have published articles on these topics in journals including the European Journal of Political Research, West European Politics and Party Politics. News coverage of my work has appeared in El País, Cadena Ser, Newtral.es , among others.
